Summer 2021 Internship
In the Summer of 2021 I was an intern at Latitude Studios Co, a Minnesota based start-up specializing in building shipping container homes and offices. During my time at Latitude Studios I gained more than just some design experience, given that I was their 4th employee.
Working as a "Product Specialist" for Latitude, I was involved with a wide range of matters. For example, I researched pesticides used in container wood for a concerned client, spoke to salespeople, ranked PTAC and air-conditioning units, reached out to suppliers and distributors, created maps, and more. This position opened my eyes to the interdisciplinary role that Product Design plays in a company's success.
Over time, I became more deeply involved in the design elements of the business. In this role, I made company brochures, presentations, sketches, CAD models, and more. Below are some examples of the renders I created of my models. My models were made in SolidWorks with some assets created and imported from Blender. All renderings were made with Keyshot 10.
Seeing the work come to life.
One of the most exciting parts of my internship was watching my designs being built and delivered. Seeing the hard work of my talented co-workers and the smile of a happy client made the countless hours worth every second.
